I needed to replace a beat up and ancient roller door which meant that I had a really good excuse to make a pair of extra large barn doors with some hefty joinery.

I have no idea how much these doors weigh. While they are large, incredibly bulky and hard to maneuvre off their hinges; when mounted on the hinges they glide smoothly and are very user friendly.

Perhaps not as convenient as a roller door, carriage doors offer much more character and a bit more utility. These have a tighter fit to reduce heat exchange and with the choice of three doors there is more discretion in access to suit the situation.
